Job Description
We are looking for a results-driven DevOps Engineer to support a major Web Modernization Project, transforming legacy web applications into secure, scalable, and cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in infrastructure automation, CI/CD design, and cloud operations, with a keen eye for performance optimization and system reliability. This role is key to accelerating deployment velocity and improving operational stability across development environments.
This position is contingent upon ITMC Solutions being awarded the contract. Candidates selected for consideration will be contacted as soon as the award decision is made. Employment offers will be finalized only upon contract award confirmation.
Key Responsibilities
- Modernization Enablement: Collaborate with developers and architects to modernize monolithic web applications into containerized, microservices-based systems.
- Infrastructure Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to deploy and manage cloud resources.
- CI/CD Pipeline Design: Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines tailored for modernization, including testing, linting, container image builds, and secure deployments.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Lead the containerization of legacy applications using Docker and manage orchestration through Kubernetes or ECS/EKS.
- Cloud Migration & Operations: Provision and maintain secure, cost-effective, and highly available cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to host modernized applications.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Deploy modern observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to track performance metrics, log aggregation, and detect anomalies in rearchitected systems.
- Security and Governance: Implement DevSecOps practices, including secrets management, compliance checks, and automated security scanning in CI/CD.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a technical bridge between development, security, QA, and operations teams throughout the modernization lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or related infrastructure engineering roles.
- Proven experience supporting cloud migrations and application modernization.
- Strong hands-on skills with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.
- Scripting and automation experience (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
- Solid grasp of networking, DNS, load balancing, and caching strategies in web environments.
