About the Role
As a Network Engineer I – Financial Services at JMARK, you’ll support some of our most security-sensitive and mission-critical clients: banks, credit unions, and financial services organizations. These environments demand precision, accountability, and a strong understanding of compliance-driven IT operations.
You’ll be on the front lines ensuring networks, servers, and systems remain secure, reliable, and audit-ready. This role is ideal for a technically curious problem-solver who thrives in structured environments, values documentation and process, and takes pride in delivering white-glove service where downtime and security risks are not an option.
You’ll support regulated client systems, contribute to proactive risk reduction, and represent JMARK’s commitment to honesty, excellence, and trust in every interaction—because in financial services, trust is everything.
What You’ll Do
- Provide onsite and remote support for financial services client networks, servers, and end-user environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues with a strong focus on security, uptime, and regulatory requirements
- Manage, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and secure connectivity in compliance-driven environments
- Support and maintain Fortinet and/or Cisco network and security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and switching
- Follow and uphold documented standards, change management procedures, and security best practices
- Accurately document all work performed using professional services and documentation tools to support audits and reviews
- Perform routine system health checks, preventative maintenance, and assist with secure installations and migrations
- Collaborate closely with Service Managers, Project Managers, and Security teams on client initiatives and risk mitigation
- Identify recurring or systemic issues and contribute to proactive improvements that reduce operational and security risk
- Continually expand technical and security knowledge, including working toward relevant certifications
Qualifications
- 12–36 months of experience in a technical support or network engineering role, or equivalent demonstrated technical competence
- Experience supporting clients in financial services, banking, healthcare, or other regulated industries preferred
- Experience working in a managed services and/or Microsoft Partner environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems (2012–2019)
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and RDS
- Practical experience with Fortinet and/or Cisco networking and security products (firewalls, switches, VPNs)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including IPv4/IPv6, firewalls, VPNs, and secure remote access
- Familiarity with core banking systems (such as Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, or similar) is a strong plus
- Awareness of security concepts such as least privilege, MFA, logging, and change control
- Ability to work independently while following established processes and contributing effectively to a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a calm, professional, client-first mindset
- Willingness to travel locally or regionally as required
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
