Manager, Medical Economics

Tuesday Health launched in 2023 to deliver compassionate, supportive care for patients and caregivers navigating serious illness. We believe that each patient's journey is unique. As such, we deliver member-directed, whole-person care to seriously ill patients in our program, using leading edge supportive care models, including appropriate transitions to hospice when the time is right. This results in dramatically improved quality of life for members and their caregivers, and a meaningful reduction in unproductive medical spend. The Role  

Tuesday Health is looking for a Manager of Medical Economics who will: 

  • Working with our actuarial team, measure/forecast value-based contract (VBC) performance and understand drivers. 
  • Use propensity matching to measure the impact of our interventions in different subpopulations. 
  • Creating leading indicators of contractual performance using real-time datasets like (Q)HIN and ADT/HIE feeds. 
  • For prospective clients, collaborate with Data Engineering team to ingest and normalize datasets, calibrate our attribution model, summarize savings opportunities, and execute our underwriting process. 
  • With our Data Science and Clinical teams, make recommendations on how we can improve our attribution model to better align contracts with the patients who can benefit from Tuesday services. 
  • Support customer-facing analytics and reporting including summarizing Tuesday Health impact, preparing materials for JOCs, and measuring attainment of SLAs. 
  • As an individual contributor, promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 
  • Proactively identify data science and analytics use cases throughout the organization as well as new datasets.  Work cross-functionally to develop solutions. 
  • Collaborate with Data Platform team to build and manage assets in Tuesday’s data lake (Azure Databricks, dbt) using a variety of datasets including: client medical/pharmacy claims, ADT/HIE, FHIR, our internal care management system (Elevate), and other SaaS tools leveraged by the business (HubSpot, DialPad)

Skills & Experience 

 

Required: 

  • Strong proficiency with SQL 
  • Strong experience working with healthcare datasets (e.g. claims, ADT/HIE) 
  • 5+ years of experience working in healthcare analytics roles 
  • Experience leading and managing analytics projects 

Nice-To-Have: 

  • Proficiency with one or more BI tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, ThoughtSpot, etc.) 
  • Proficiency with dbt 
  • Proficiency with Python data tools (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit) 
  • Experience working in a cloud-based data lake / data warehouse environment like Snowflake or Databricks 
  • Managing SDLC with git 
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and certifications including HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC2
