Schedule: Monday through Friday, Field/Office

Wage Scale: $21.00 to $24.00 hourly/non-exempt

True Legacy Homes is hiring a Part-Time Field Runner with home inspection experience or junior construction knowledge to support our acquisitions and renovation teams.

This role is ideal for individuals with a background in property inspections, construction trades, renovation support, or real estate field work who are comfortable evaluating residential properties and documenting conditions accurately. The position is part-time, averaging 16–24 hours per week, with a flexible schedule based on property needs.

Job Summary:

 

As a Part-Time Field Runner, you will conduct on-site property inspections across San Diego County, focusing on identifying and documenting structural, mechanical, and visible construction-related conditions. You will capture detailed photos and videos, complete inspection checklists, and upload clear, timely reports to support acquisitions, estimating, and project planning.

 

This is a field-based, independent role requiring strong observational skills, practical construction awareness, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to internal teams.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Travel to assigned residential properties to perform visual inspections.
  • Identify and document property conditions related to structure, roofing, plumbing, electrical, water damage, and general repair needs.
  • Capture detailed interior and exterior photos and videos to support evaluations and scope planning.
  • Complete inspection checklists accurately and thoroughly.
  • Upload reports, photos, and notes into the company system immediately following site visits.
  • Communicate findings, concerns, and potential repair issues to the acquisitions manager and project manager.
  • Coordinate access with homeowners, tenants, or real estate agents when needed.
  • Conduct site visits professionally, efficiently, and with strong attention to detail.



Qualifications:

 

  • Prior experience in home inspection, construction, renovation support, property management, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of residential construction systems and common repair issues.
  • Ability to recognize visible structural concerns, water intrusion, safety hazards, and deferred maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation with valid insurance.
  • Ability to drive approximately 75–150 miles per day within San Diego County.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to document findings and upload reports.
  • Ability to follow standardized inspection checklists and provide clear written notes.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with homeowners, tenants, and agents.

 

Physical Requirements:  

 

  • The nature of the position requires frequent travel to and from various locations within the County. 
  • May on occasion require prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and standing. 
  • Bending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist.  
  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders or stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.    
  • Mobility Requirement: Ability to get from one location to another.  
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on one or both knees.  
  • Visual Requirements: Able to see and read computer screens, small electronic devices, and maps.  
  • Hearing Requirement: Able to detect specific noises for proper equipment operation.  
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical. 

 

Work Environment: 

  • Work may involve exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, loud noise, or chemicals, etc.
