We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. At Johnson Lambert we relentlessly strive to advocate for our clients and employees, and inspire an environment that embodies agility, respect, and trust.
As a Senior Accountant, you will work collaboratively with internal staff to perform or assist in effectively executing various aspects of the daily internal accounting process. This position will be hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in the Raleigh office.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Timely and Accurate Financial Reporting through Month-End Expertise: Prepare key journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, playing a critical role in a smooth and efficient month-end close process. Partner directly with business owners to provide insights through variance analysis on operating department expenses, collaborating on close entries and research to drive financial understanding.
- Drive Financial Accuracy through Key Account Reconciliations: Take ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of our financial data.
- Streamline Vendor Payments and Accounts Payable: Play a vital role in our operations by efficiently coding invoices and managing the accounts payable processes.
- Optimize Cash Flow and Manage Receivables: Contribute directly to our financial health by reconciling cash disbursements and proactively managing accounts receivable collections.
- Collaborate on Audits and Ensure Compliance: Partner with external auditors by providing essential documentation and account insights for the annual 401k audit, contributing to our commitment to compliance.
- Support Tax Compliance and Reporting: Assist in the timely and accurate filing of various tax payments and property tax forms with state and local agencies, ensuring our regulatory obligations are met.
- Champion Accurate and Timely Payroll Processing: Be a key contributor to employee satisfaction by ensuring the precise and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll.

Desired Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience with Bachelor’s degree, 7 years of progressive experience with Associate’s degree.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets required
- Prior experience with accounting and/or tax software a plus
- Payroll Processing experience preferred
- Experience with Certinia (formerly FinancialForce) or Salesforce desired
- Remote work experience preferred

The pay range for this role is:
75,000 - 90,000 USD per year (US)
