Senior Software Engineer

The Opportunity


We are looking for a Software Engineer to join engineering at Root. In this role, you will work closely with peers on a team within a product domain (e.g. Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, etc). You’ll play a key role in solving customer and business problems in collaboration with your teammates.


Salary Range: $133,784 - $155,000 (Bonus and LTI Eligible)

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 2+ years as a software engineer
  • Experience in Ruby on Rails or equivalent
  • Familiarity with React/React Native or equivalents
  • An eagerness to work closely with your team in a collaborative environment
  • Curiosity in clearly defining the customer problem that needs to be solved
  • Excellent communication skills both with engineering colleagues and team stakeholders
