Position Description

The Reentry House Manager plays a crucial role in leading the reentry team in creating a transformative community experience, fostering an environment where peers support one another while ensuring residents receive effective support and accountability on their reintegration journey. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of resident management, enhancing program operations, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards within the facilities. The Reentry House Manager will cultivate a therapeutic environment, exemplify pro-social modeling, and implement strategic initiatives to improve resident outcomes.

Specific Duties

• Oversee daily operations of the resident program, ensuring the effective delivery of services and support to residents. Maintain quality, detailed resident engagement entries via the Apricot System, leading team training on data entry and documentation practices.
• Conduct substance abuse and alcohol testing in accordance with program policy, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Foster a calm, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere within the facility, proactively addressing any disruptions to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Implement conflict resolution strategies and team interventions to de-escalate resident conflicts effectively.
• Supervise regular room checks and monitor resident engagement to ensure productive participation in activities. Supervise medication distribution, maintaining accurate, confidential, and timely records while training staff on best practices.
• Complete timely, thorough incident reports and oversee the review process to identify areas for improvement. Report issues or concerns promptly to the team and coordinate with team members to address resident needs effectively.
• Lead daily team communications, providing updates on incidents and resident progress during assigned shifts. Facilitate and document regular house meetings, encouraging resident participation in community building efforts.
• Ensure program rules and policies are enforced consistently and fairly among residents, overseeing compliance efforts.
• Develop and implement crisis management strategies according to established guidelines, training staff on emergency procedures.
• Participate actively in scheduled meetings, staff development, and training while mentoring new team members.
• Conduct training sessions for Substance Use as a Chronic Condition Engagement and Education Training (SUCCEED) upon certification.
• Oversee resident chore assignments, ensuring accountability and fostering responsibility within the community.
• Manage supply inventory control and resource distribution, collaborating with the team to optimize program needs.
• Monitor the work performance of house monitors and ensure their compliance with program policies and practices. Provide support and coordinative assistance to program team members as needed to ensure programmatic success.

Desired Qualifications

Justice-involved individuals are encouraged to apply. Personal experience returning from incarceration is highly valued by the organization and can be considered in lieu of other qualifications.

• Significant experience working with justice-involved individuals is preferred, ideally in a supervisory or management capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed systems of care and best practices in reentry programming.
• Strong interpersonal, engagement, organizational, and advanced time-management skills.
• Proven ability to maintain appropriate boundaries while engaging with residents and providing support.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of interacting with individuals of diverse ethnic, social, or economic backgrounds.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a capacity for independent decision-making and responsibility management.
• Excellent organizational skills and initiative, with a proven track record of follow-through on multifaceted tasks.
• Commitment to the organization’s mission and philosophy, demonstrating sensitivity to cultural diversity and organizational harmony.
• Self-directed and adaptable, able to meet the changing needs of the program and residents, including a flexible schedule for mandatory meetings/groups.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, calendar management, email, and database software necessary for job responsibilities.
• Strong documentation, decision-making, people skills, conflict resolution skills, and integrity. - Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through various channels, including telephone, email, and text.
• Familiarity with online meeting platforms and a readiness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
