What you’ll get:
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in both scrappy problem-solving and polished execution - someone who is just as comfortable hacking together a proof-of-concept as they are writing clean, maintainable code and presenting it to a customer.
In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of your work, moving fluidly between discovery, design, development and deployment. Some days you will be deep in technical investigation mode - reverse-engineering systems, navigating messy APIs, and figuring things out with limited documentation. Other days, you’ll be the architect of scalable solutions, shaping production-ready code and delivering value to customers with confidence and clarity.
You will work across a range of projects, collaborating with a supportive, remote-first team that values autonomy, creativity and impact. This is a role for someone who gets energy from variety and enjoys switching gears—solving messy problems one day and polishing solutions the next
As a Senior Software Engineer, your work will directly shape how our product evolves and delivers value for our customers. You will take on complex, high-impact projects - from building new features and systems to improving the reliability and scalability of what is already in place.
You will be trusted with meaningful problems and given the autonomy to solve them end-to-end. Whether you’re reverse-engineering a legacy system, architecting a new integration or refining internal tooling, your contributions will help government teams operate more efficiently and effectively.
Beyond the code, you will help set the tone for technical excellence, mentoring teammates, sharing knowledge, and raising the bar for what great engineering looks like at Just Appraised
