Position Summary

This is a unique opportunity to work with major sectors and leading associations, from food and healthcare to emerging technologies, helping them craft stories, build reputations, and connect with key audiences. While policy and regulatory shifts set the stage, your focus will be on securing media coverage, developing messages, content, and campaigns that resonate with the media, stakeholders, and the public.
You will help drive awareness, digital engagement, and creative communications strategies that influence how industries are perceived and how conversations unfold. This is a hands-on role where your ideas will shape messaging, amplify impact, and tell compelling stories across channels, helping clients stand out in a rapidly evolving landscape.
Essential Functions
Strategic Communications
· Support the Public Affairs division in developing and executing strategic communications programs, including media relations, social media, digital campaigns, content creation, and storytelling.
· Assist in crafting press materials, media pitches, talking points, and social content to elevate client visibility and influence key audiences.
· Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and stakeholders, amplifying client messages across media channels.
· Monitor and analyze media coverage, policy developments, and industry trends to inform messaging, content, and campaign strategy.
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging and creative content are strategically coordinated across all platforms.
· Assist in executing media and digital campaigns, helping clients communicate clearly and effectively to target audiences.
· Serve as a key liaison with association committees, Boards, and key stakeholders through phone, email, video, and in-person interactions, ensuring timely and professional communications.
Qualifications
·Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
· 2–4 years of professional experience in public relations, strategic communications, or public affairs, ideally within a Public Relations or Public Affairs agency supporting multiple clients and industries.
· Proven experience in media relations, content development, digital strategy, and social media management, with a track record of securing coverage, engagement, and influence.
· Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft messages that resonate across channels and audiences.
· Experience building and nurturing relationships with journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders to amplify client narratives.
· Skilled at developing and executing integrated communications campaigns that combine traditional, digital, and social channels.
· Strong strategic thinking, creativity, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
· Familiarity with policy, industry trends, and the intersection of public affairs and reputation strategy is a plus.
· Creative and strategic thinker with intellectual curiosity and interest to stay abreast of client industry trends and assimilate new job-related information appropriately.
· Reliability to maintain established schedule, manage time and priorities, and meet commitments and deadlines.
· Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to effectively manage through change and transition.
· Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with poise, tact, and diplomacy.

· Hybrid Work Environment: All employees located within commuting distance of one of Kellen’s offices are required to go in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Flexibility in going into the office additional days may be necessary.
· Extended Work Hours: The nature of this role may require more than 40 hours per week to fulfill job responsibilities. Additionally, flexibility in working nights and weekends may be necessary. Longer hours, travel, and weekend commitments are typically associated with conferences or special events.
· Office Equipment Usage: The role routinely involves the use of standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The pay range for this role is:
60,000 - 70,000 USD per year (HQ)
