Role Overview
Kinetic (Penticton) is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician to play a critical role in maintaining and improving the reliability of equipment across our manufacturing facility.


This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex mechanical systems, preventing downtime, and supporting a fast-paced fabrication environment. In addition to maintaining production equipment, this position also supports general facility and property maintenance, ensuring our buildings, infrastructure, and shop environment remain safe, functional, and well maintained.


We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining both equipment and the physical workplace, and who is comfortable managing a variety of tasks ranging from industrial maintenance to minor building repairs and property upkeep.

You will work closely with production teams to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance while also supporting the overall condition and functionality of our facility.


Key Responsibilities 

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fabrication and manufacturing equipment including press brakes, CNC plasma tables, fabrication tools, compressors, and shop machinery

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems

Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and commissioning as new machinery is introduced

Perform basic VFD troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics

Support general building and facility maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical repairs, and basic carpentry tasks

Perform property upkeep and improvements, including interior repairs, shop organization, and general building upkeep

Complete minor renovation or repair projects such as drywall installation/repair, painting, basic framing, and workspace improvements

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts inventory records

Work with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability

Support shop organization and workflow improvements through preventive maintenance and continuous improvement practices

Ensure all work is performed safely in accordance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety procedures


Required Qualifications

5+ years of industrial or facility maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy equipment environments

Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability with experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Experience performing general building maintenance and repairs

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals

Experience maintaining industrial fabrication or CNC equipment

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a production environment

Ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities across equipment and facility needs


Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on mechanical ability is essential. Candidates must be comfortable independently diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment and performing building maintenance tasks.

Experience working in steel fabrication or manufacturing environments

Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment

Basic welding or fabrication experience

Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs

Experience performing general trades work such as carpentry, drywall repair, plumbing, or building improvements

Schedule & Work Details 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM 

Location: Penticton, BC

Environment: On-site, office-based role within an industrial manufacturing facility
