About the role
As an ADAS Calibration Technician at Kinetic, you’ll play a key role in performing precise calibrations of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), supporting both vehicle safety and performance standards. This role requires a strong understanding of ADAS technolgies and the technical skills to independently perform and troubleshoot calibration tasks. This position is leveled based on years of experience and certifications. You'll contribute to the ongoing improvement and quality of Kinetic's calibration services. Your responsibilities will include essential tasks such as document setup, vehicle transportation, and effective communication between the Kinetic Hub and our partners to support our ADAS calibrations and related services.
What you'll do
- Operational Support: Adhere to dispatch schedules to ensure timely task completion.
- Calibration and Validation: Perform calibrations and validations of ADAS systems, including but not limited to, LiDARs, radars, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors, in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Procedure Compliance: Look up and follow service information (SI) procedures to achieve optimal system performance, compliance and best practices..
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve ADAS-related issues to maintain high performance standards.
- Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct ADAS-related services, including module and system setup, electrical troubleshooting and in-depth diagnostics.
- Vehicle Handling: Pick-up and delivery of vehicles requiring calibration.
- Documentation: Accurately record calibration and diagnostic processes, creating detailed comprehensive reports that support traceability, quality assurance, and informed decision-making.
- Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to optimize ADAS calibration processes, enhance system performance, and support the design of new features through technical feedback.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior technicians to support their technical skill development.
- Safety and Compliance: Exposure to shop environments, must adhere to all safety guidelines and operational standards and procedures.
- Daily Hub Operations: Assist with a variety of day-to-day tasks within the hub to maintain seamless operations. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, equipment upkeep, inventory management, moving or rearranging equipment, facility organization, and supporting other operational needs to ensure optimal readiness.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2 years of automotive repair experience, with hands-on knowledge in ADAS calibrations.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled and proficient in ADAS calibration tools, OEM an aftermarket diagnostic equipment, and electrical diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: Preferred certifications include: ASE A6 or B5, ICAR ADAS Tech Role, MECP, or other recognized industry training.
- Transportation : Must have a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Mobile Device : Must have a mobile device with cellular service (allowance provided).
- Driver’s License : Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements : Able to lift 50lbs, use basic hand tools, work outside, drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Attention to Detail : Ability to work accurately and ensure quality results.
- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective customer and team interaction.
- Customer Service : Solid people skills to enhance customer experience with a focus on communication and professionalism.
- Computer Literacy: Good understanding of day-to-day computer operations (internet, applications)
- Independence and Teamwork : Capability to work independently while being a supportive team member.
- Multitasking Ability : Competence in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
