Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About Kinetic

Kinetic Automation is building a network of automated repair centers for modern vehicles. The auto industry is transitioning from mechanically complex vehicles to mechanically simple ones with complex software and technology. Kinetic aims to be the primary infrastructure-as-a-service for servicing future vehicles with our robotic repair centers, powered by our proprietary software and AI. We are a strong team of experienced robotics + automotive + shared mobility enthusiasts who have worked in self-driving, mapping, lidar, motorsport, ride-sharing and ghost kitchens. We are a venture backed startup (Series B) with a clear go-to-market strategy and meaningful revenue.

About the role

You’ll develop advanced machine learning models and algorithms to power our business. This includes customer-facing AI solutions and predictive analytics. You’ll also build internal tools to improve our data pipeline, model deployment, and monitoring systems, using cloud-based deployments on AWS and automated testing protocols.

Our company is focused on creating a powerful AI platform that uses data from all our operations. You’ll be key to this effort, ensuring our models are efficient, scalable, and easy to maintain. We’re looking for a senior engineer with deep experience in machine learning to lay a strong foundation for our AI development.

We value simplicity, reliability, and fast iteration. We use proven tools and avoid unnecessary complexity. You’ll help design systems that support our critical business needs while being easy to scale and develop.

Although this role is listed as "Remote," it is actually an in-person position in a to-be-established East Bay Area office or our headquarters office in Orange County. We've found that in-person communication is critical to our development velocity and business success. Additionally, we believe that spending time around brilliant coworkers and cool robots is one of the biggest perks of working at Kinetic :)
