About the role

The Digital Transformation Strategist plays a key role in driving transformative value for our clients by providing expertise in digital transformation, engineering information management, and strategic consulting. As a member of Kinsmen Group’s Strategic Consulting team, you’ll work closely with clients to understand their data management needs, optimize their engineering and IT strategies, and support long-term asset management goals. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, business acumen, and consulting skills to shape, guide, and implement strategic initiatives that strengthen client relationships and foster long-term customer relationships. You are comfortable to guide and manage discussions on a broad range of topics such as Digital Twins, BIM, Asset Information Management, Management of Change, Organizational Change Management, Capital Projects, Maintenance planning, Regulatory impacts, to name a few of the topics you will be involved with daily.

  • Pre-Sales Support
    • Engage with potential clients to understand their specific needs, challenges, and objectives, ensuring solutions align with their business goals. 
    • Prepare and deliver tailored product or service demonstrations to showcase capabilities, benefits, and how the solution addresses customer pain points. 
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on the product or solution, addressing technical questions and providing insights into how it can be integrated within the client's environment. 
    • Collaborate with sales and technical teams to create detailed proposals, SOWs, and presentations that outline the solution scope, approach, and value proposition. 
    • Coordinate and lead POCs or pilot projects to demonstrate the solution's effectiveness, building client confidence and buy-in. 
    • Work closely with client stakeholders, addressing any concerns and helping align solution offerings with key decision-makers' priorities. 
    • Highlight the unique benefits of the product or service relative to competitors, showcasing its distinct advantages. 
    • Provide ongoing support to the sales team by answering technical questions, refining messaging, and supporting strategic discussions to advance sales opportunities. 
    • Gather client feedback during pre-sales engagements to relay insights to product development, helping refine features and align product evolution with market demands. 
  • Strategic Engagement Execution
    • Using maturity models, understand and map the client's current situation and future vision.
    • Conduct in-depth assessments, including scope definition, stakeholder analysis, data mapping, process, and governance analysis to support digital transformation initiatives. 
    • Apply both qualitative and quantitative research methods to define a client’s future. 
    • Prepare and present strategic evaluation reports and guide RFP processes as needed. 
    • Develop detailed roadmaps, timelines, and investment analyses for clients based on the Digital Asset Transformation Model (DATM). 
    • Working with OCM lead, develop and communicate with the company's stakeholders and internal and external project teams. 
    • Develop program and/or project execution strategies focusing on accelerating the delivery of solutions to business stakeholders. 
    • Regularly engage with clients to adjust roadmaps according to evolving priorities, market conditions, and technology innovations. 
    • As a primary client team member, collaborate and ensure delivery of the overall vision and business value to the customer. 
  • Research and Thought Leadership
    • Conduct market analysis, track industry trends, and identify emerging technologies relevant to Kinsmen Group and its clients. 
    • Support marketing and sales by developing whitepapers, articles, and presentations to position Kinsmen Group as a thought leader in asset information management. 
    • Represent the company by speaking at industry conferences and events, showcasing expertise, sharing case studies, and demonstrating the value and impact of solutions to engage prospective clients and reinforce the company’s brand presence. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, Business, or related field (Master’s or MBA strongly preferred). 
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic consulting in an asset-intensive industry (oil & gas, chemicals, utilities, pharma). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable strategies. 
  • In-depth understanding of the day-to-day workings of asset information required to support the lifecycle of facilities. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences. 
  • Knowledge of engineering information management solutions, asset information management (AIM), and digital transformation initiatives.
