About the role

  • The People Manager is essential in overseeing People Operations and Recruiting for Kisi, based in New York City. This role focuses primarily on the operational aspects of Human Resources (“HR”), including training managers on performance, payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with the employee handbook and company policies. Additionally, the People Manager will play a key role in strengthening the company culture by organizing events and offsites, contributing to employee engagement and team cohesion.

What you'll do

Training and Development:
  • Train managers on performance management processes.
  • Deliver training programs for employees on company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
  • Oversee payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries.
  • Manage benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Execute and enforce the employee handbook, ensuring all policies are communicated and adhered to.
Employee Relations:
  • Address employee concerns with consideration and resolve conflicts impartially and consistently.
  • Administer thorough investigations into employee complaints or issues as required.
  • Manage cross-functional teams involved in transformation initiatives, including selection/separation decisions and performance reviews.
Onboarding:
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs to ensure new hires are successfully integrated into the company.
  • Conduct new employee orientations to familiarize them with company policies and culture.
Event Planning:
  • Organize company events, offsites, and team-building activities to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Plan and execute employee recognition programs and initiatives.
Culture Development:
  • Promote and maintain a strong company culture that aligns with the organization’s values and mission.
  • Facilitate regular employee feedback sessions to gauge satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field – degree preferred.
  • Certification in HR management (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is highly desirable.
  • 5-7 years of experience in HR operations, recruiting, or a related role.
  • International experience, with a focus on Sweden - preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and improving employee support processes and training programs.
  • Experience with sourcing platforms (i.e. LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, etc.) and international experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to collective success.
  • Ability to continually think strategically and identify opportunities for HR operational improvements.

The pay range for this role is:

120,000 - 156,000 USD per year (US Very High)
