The opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Payroll & HR Officer to join our People, Safety & Culture team in Kilburn, SA. This role is an even split between payroll and HR administration. Our payroll system is largely automated, however sound, fundamental payroll knowledge is essential to keep it running accurately and compliantly. HR administration and support is a genuine, ongoing part of the role. You'll be well supported in both areas by an experienced People, Safety and Culture team.

Your new role:

Reporting to the People, Safety & Culture Manager, you'll be supporting approximately 320 employees nationally.

Payroll:

• Processing weekly and monthly payroll for employees across Australia using Definitiv
• Act as the main point of contact for payroll-related matters
• Reconciliation of superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, workcover and end-of-month processes
• Maintain payroll master files and ensure payroll system integrity
• Support financial year-end requirements and ensure legislative compliance

Human Resources:

• Supporting recruitment through job requisitions, posting job advertisements and promoting roles internally
• Candidate screening, interview booking and pre-employment medical coordination
• Support employee onboarding processes
• Coordinate labour hire placements including onboarding and offboarding
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and filing

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in a comparable payroll position
• Sound knowledge of Australian payroll processes including Fair Work legislation, tax and superannuation
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel
• High level of accuracy in data entry, attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
• Prior experience in HR related functions not essential, but advantageous.
