Kraken-Penn Quarter is the city's first axe throwing/rage room bar, offerings guests an opportunity to release their inner Kraken!  Onsite activities include axe throwing and rage rooms, and cater to groups large and small for the ultimate bonding experience.

About the role

Kraken-Penn Quarter is looking to hire a meticulous, detail-oriented and grounded General Manager to help guide our ship. This position will require the ability to work independently, as a self-starter, and as part of a team, receiving and delegating responsibilities.

Utilizing your excellent logistics skills and strength in multi-tasking you will need to navigate through the high seas, with your crew by your side, ensuring both the crew and guests have the best experience. It is imperative that we keep the crew unified and the ship in pristine condition.

What you'll do

  • Lead the team in Delivering the Unexpected to our guests
  • Run weekly manager meetings to share knowledge and understanding of upcoming events and information
  • Uphold an orderly and tidy front-of-house space
  • Contribute to the set-up and shutdown procedures
  • Commit unwaveringly to uphold the brand's standards throughout the facility
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining the highest quality of food and beverages
  • Handling online reservation systems for precise internal data monitoring and enhancing the guest experience
  • Efficiently overseeing the check-in areas, administering waivers, and facilitating guest experiences
  • Guaranteeing guest satisfaction and adeptly managing any grievances
  • Fostering strong relationships with guests and team members
  • Consistently representing the Kraken brand in a positive manner
  • Working in tandem with partners to support their product promotions within our venues
  • Orchestrating exceptional Kraken-themed events that captivate and entertain
  • Being a model of relentless precision and positivity, with keen attention to detail and a spirited drive for excellence

Qualifications

  • Relevant service or hospitality experience
  • Ability to obtain a DC ABCA Manager-On-Duty license, or have a current license
  • Ability to speak to groups and create a positive environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and acknowledged
  • Experience working with Point of Sale (POS) and reservation systems
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Products
  • Flexible availability, including night and weekends
  • Commitment to and alignment with the company's Core Values
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for short periods of time

The pay range for this role is:

50,000 - 55,000 USD per year (Washington, DC)
