The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the daily operations of the accounting team. This position focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable support, and assisting with monthly close processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow in a fast-paced, multi-site retail environment.  

Based at our New Orleans Headquarters, this role reports to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Cross-train and support the subledger roles: accounts payable & accounts receivable.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with daily cash reconciliations and treasury tasks.
  • Help prepare financial reports for internal management.
  • Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance requests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting-related matters.
  • Assist with ERP data entry, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in learning and growing within a fast-paced, multi-site retail or consumer goods environment.
