Key Responsibilities:
- FINANCE / ACCOUNTING:
- Oversee the finance, planning, and cash flow management functions of the business, partnering closely with the Controller, who owns day-to-day accounting execution and close processes.
- Partner with the Controller on the preparation and integrity of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, lender reports, and tax filings.
- Prepare for and oversee financial reviews, audits, and lender requirements of company financial statements.
- Own the company’s planning, forecasting, and cash flow forecasting function, including annual budgets, rolling 24-month forecasts, and three-year business plans.
- Lead monthly and quarterly financial reviews with business leaders, providing clear analysis and insight by comparing actual performance to plan; manage re-forecasts and adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Own short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital management.
- Oversee inventory planning and forecasting to ensure alignment with sales demand, margin targets, and cash flow objectives while maintaining healthy inventory levels; recommend improvements to planning methods and tools.
- LEADERSHIP & COMMUNICATION
- Provide regular, structured financial updates to the CEO and Founder, translating results into implications and actions.
- Seek to understand long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and profitability.
- Partner with department leaders to monitor performance and make recommendations for improvements in people, process, and technology.
- Create and reinforce a culture of disciplined financial management that balances growth investment with spending accountability.
- Lead cost management and efficiency initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
- BUSINESS STRUCTURE / TAX / FINANCING
- Assess and recommend optimal entity structures for existing business activities and anticipated future investments or needs, managing any changes through execution.
- Lead the evolution of the company’s tax strategy, including onboarding and management of external tax advisors, to support growth and minimize tax burden.
- Manage any lender relationships, including covenant management, reporting, and securing new financing as needs evolve.
- REAL ESTATE
- Oversee financial management and performance tracking of corporate-owned real estate investments.
- Lead financial diligence and analysis of future acquisitions, including returns, tax implications, and entity structuring.
- Review and approve financial terms of leases in partnership with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
- LEGAL/CONTRACTS/NEGOTIATION
- Manage external legal counsel, overseeing scope, prioritization, and tracking against deliverables.
- Provide financial and commercial guidance on contract terms and support negotiations with key vendors.
- Lead enterprise-level risk identification and mitigation through diligence, controls, and governance.
- Align with business leaders on business terms for each contract and provide guidance on negotiation or support as needed.
- Ensure appropriate oversight of contract records, key dates, and obligations in partnership with internal teams.
- INSURANCE
- Manage all insurance policies and ensure coverage remains appropriate as the business scales.
- Identify and assess operational and financial risks, partnering with leadership to implement effective prevention strategies.
- SYSTEMS, DATA & TECHNOLOGY
- Serve as executive owner of the company’s financial and enterprise systems strategy, ensuring systems support scale, visibility, and disciplined decision-making.
- Own executive accountability for the ERP platform (NetSuite experience preferred), including governance, reporting architecture, and scalability.
- Partner with Systems & Integrations leadership and functional owners to align systems priorities with business strategy.
- Ensure data integrity and a single source of truth across finance, planning, inventory, and operations.
- Oversee controls, access, auditability, and compliance within financial and operational systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in working in a high-growth, complex organization and contributing to improved financial outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead planning, forecasting, and financial strategy, not solely accounting or reporting.
- Strong analytical, modeling, and organizational skills with the ability to translate financial data into business decisions.

- Strong understanding of how enterprise systems, data governance, and reporting architecture support forecasting and inventory discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to partner with non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven leader with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Master’s Degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
- Senior finance leadership experience (CFO or equivalent) in an omni-channel consumer brand.
- Experience supporting a multi-location retail business preferred.
- Experience supporting international operations or expansion preferred.
- Experience working in founder-led or entrepreneurial environments strongly preferred.
