Summary
We are looking for an Abuse and Compliance Analyst to identify, investigate, and mitigate incidents related to IP misuse and manage legal requests, including official notices, DMCA takedown requests, and other related notifications. This professional will interact with internal teams, customers, and authorities to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices regarding the company's infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate abuse-related incidents involving IPs, such as spam, phishing, DDoS attacks, malicious traffic, and other suspicious activities.
- Respond to abuse notifications, including reports from third parties, regulatory entities, and partners.
- Analyze and process legal requests, such as court orders, DMCA notices, and content removal requests, ensuring compliance with current legislation (without acting as legal counsel).
- Work closely with lawyers to gather information and respond to legal demands related to the company's infrastructure usage.
- Prepare technical reports and evidence on abuse incidents to support legal actions and decision-making.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and third parties regarding incidents, sanctions, and best practices for abuse mitigation.
- Develop and improve internal policies and procedures for handling abuse and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with information security and network teams to mitigate risks and enhance abuse response processes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in abuse handling, incident response, or related areas in information security.
- Knowledge of network protocols, DNS, BGP, and IP blocking/listing systems (RBLs, Spamhaus, etc.).
- Familiarity with DMCA notification processes, court orders, and privacy and digital security legislation.
- Ability to interpret and respond to legal documents in collaboration with lawyers and legal consultants.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers, authorities, and technical teams.
- Strong organization and attention to detail to manage multiple demands simultaneously.
- Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and network traffic analysis is a plus.
- Intermediate/advanced English proficiency to handle notifications and international communications.
Nice-to-Have
- Security-related certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CIPP/E).
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, LGPD, and DMCA.
