Join the Lavender Team
We’re seeking an experienced Billing Manager to lead and grow our Billing team while overseeing the full revenue cycle management (RCM) process. This includes claims submission, denials and appeals, payment posting, accounts receivable (AR), and escalated client billing issues.
You are a strategic, hands-on billing professional with deep knowledge of medical billing and coding, a strong track record of improving AR performance, and a passion for leading high-performing teams. You thrive in fast-moving environments, are driven by process improvement, and value collaboration across functions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and support the Billing team with clear expectations, training, and regular feedback
- Oversee all RCM operations including claim submission, rejections, denials, appeals, and ERA payment posting
- Monitor AR buckets (60–90, 90–120, 120+ days) to ensure timely and accurate collections
- Partner closely with the Concierge and Credentialing teams to ensure seamless billing operations and smooth client experiences
- Handle escalated billing inquiries with professionalism and empathy, resolving issues efficiently
- Track billing KPIs and lead scorecard reviews to assess performance and coach team members
- Identify trends, test CPT billing strategies, and make data-informed recommendations to improve revenue or reduce costs
- Stay up-to-date on payer policy changes and billing compliance requirements (HIPAA, coding standards, etc.)
- Support team collaboration by fostering an inclusive, high-trust, problem-solving culture
- Lead strategic improvements to scale the billing function as the organization grows
What Success Looks Like
- Less than 10% of receivables are aged beyond 120 days
- The team is consistently meeting accuracy and productivity goals
- Denials are handled efficiently, with appeals followed up in a timely manner
- Strong relationships across the Concierge, Credentialing, and Finance teams
- Billing issues are resolved with minimal client escalation
- Revenue performance continues to improve quarter over quarter
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare billing, appeals, and collections with commercial insurance payers
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role within RCM or medical billing
- Strong understanding of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and billing terminology
- Hands-on experience with payer portals such as ClaimMD, Availity, and others
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is a plus
- Proven ability to improve AR metrics and streamline billing processes
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with a high attention to detail
- A self-starter mindset with a solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with comfort operating in a remote, fast-paced environment
