The Opportunity
The Quality, Safety, and Compliance Manager partners with the Director of Advanced Practice Nursing to ensure safe, high-quality care across Lavender’s telehealth environment. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining nursing and operational standards, leading audits, and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
This position serves as a resource and partner for nursing and operational leaders, translating regulatory and professional standards into practical, actionable policies and workflows. By keeping policies clear, current, and aligned with best practice, this role ensures nurse practitioners and support teams can deliver consistent, safe, and effective mental health care across multiple states.
What You’ll Be Doing
Policy Development & Governance
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of evidence-based nursing and operational policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Translate complex tele-health and mental health regulations into actionable internal standards and workflows
- Maintain version control and systematic reviews of policies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and currency
- Inform and coach leaders on policy frameworks, supporting consistent adoption and best practices
- Collaborate with Clinical Educators and People teams to create policy communications, training materials, and summaries for providers and support staff
- Participate in nursing committees and workgroups focused on policy oversight and improvement
Regulatory & Standards Monitoring
- Monitor and interpret federal and state regulatory changes affecting telehealth and psychiatric nursing practice
- Provide subject matter expertise on compliance risks, regulatory feasibility, and scope of practice considerations
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining thorough documentation and rationale for policy decisions
- Ensure operational policies align with nursing regulations and enable high-quality, compliant care delivery
Quality & Safety Improvement
- Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure policies promote safe, efficient, and effective care delivery
- Use NP, support team, and client feedback to identify gaps or opportunities for practice improvement
- Lead quality improvement initiatives that impact client outcomes and enhance operational efficiency
- Manage incident reporting and incident management processes, including documentation, corrective actions, and follow-up
- Oversee vendor relationships related to whistleblower reporting systems and other compliance tools
- Manage the physician collaboration program, ensuring agreements, invoicing, and compliance per state requirements
- Chair the Quality Improvement Council and Client Care Council, monitoring KPIs and partnering with the data team to establish meaningful quality scorecards
- Proactively identify areas for improvement through audits and observational reviews
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Quality Improvement, Healthcare Policy, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare policy, quality improvement, or healthcare compliance
- Knowledge of psychiatric/mental health standards of care and multi-state telehealth regulations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory and clinical evidence to inform decision-making
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience creating clear policies, procedures, and workflows for healthcare teams
- Highly organized, with experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a cross-functional environment
- Experienced in project and change management methodologies, with the ability to implement process changes in mid-market or enterprise organizations
