National Account Manager
Full-Time | Remote | EST
ABOUT THE ROLE
The National Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing revenue with assigned accounts while winning new business from lead generation and marketing. Working cross-functionally with sales, operations, project management, and other internal teams, this role serves as the primary point of contact for clients across all L&E account types: consultants, agencies, and corporate clients.
This role is built around relationships. You will manage day-to-day client needs, write and present accurate bids, follow up to close sales, and hit quarterly revenue targets. Existing clients and new prospects are provided through lead generation and business development.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Business Development & Sales
- Research, contact, qualify, prepare, and present bids and proposals to win new accounts.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with existing customers, building high-value connections at the buyer and senior levels.
- Identify short-term and long-term sales retention and growth opportunities using all available company tools and reports.
- Present proposals and close accounts.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales quota and quarterly performance goals.
Account Management
- Coordinate account management activities (bids, contracts, projects) with support from other team members.
- Maintain a 24-48 hour follow-up response time and a 30-minute initial response time.
- Achieve a 35% or higher close ratio; grow and manage a sales pipeline based on account potential.
- Understand project probabilities and potential for accurate forecasting.
Time Allocation
- Customer time (80%): 40% customer prospecting, selling, and bid follow-up; 40% bid writing and current account management.
- Non-customer time (20%): 10% general administration and other tasks; 10% travel and internal meetings.
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience
- 3+ years of client-facing project management, account management, or sales experience required.
- Market research background preferred.
- Four-year degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Networking and negotiation skills.
- Relationship building and management.
- Public speaking and presenting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), internet and email, Google Suite, simple accounting, and cloud-based file systems.
- Comfortable learning and working with new technologies, including emerging AI tools, to improve efficiency and insight.
