About the role

The System Administrator II position is a junior to mid-level role that requires a broad skill set and the ability to manage diverse tasks across multiple platforms and systems. It works closely with the Director of IT/AV and is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s cloud-based IT infrastructure. The environment in which the System Administrator II will work is fully cloud-based – no onsite servers – and utilizes the Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace platforms. 

 

The System Administrator II is capable of flexibly and comfortably shifting back and forth between systems and tasks, such as administering Intune policies, maintaining Powershell scripts, responding to tickets in Jira, and supporting L&E’s RMM setup, on a daily basis. 


What you'll do


Systems & Platform Support 

  • Administer and support a cloud-based environment (Microsoft 365/Entra, AWS, and Google Workspace)
  • Manage users, groups, and devices via Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and related MS 365 tools
  • Support and maintain remote monitoring and management tools (NinjaRMM)
  • Handle day-to-day IT tickets through Jira and assist with hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Maintain and improve BYOD and endpoint policies across a distributed workforce

Automation & Scripting 

  • Write and maintain scripts in PowerShell and/or Bash to automate common tasks and improve system reliability
  • Assist with monitoring, logging, and health checks of various platforms and systems
  • Jira automation for ticket routing, notifications, and escalations 

Security & Compliance 

  • Assist in ISO 27001 compliance efforts, including documentation, control tracking, and audit preparation
  • Support security initiatives such as MFA enforcement, secure provisioning, and vulnerability remediation 

Collaboration & Documentation 

  • Work with developers and internal teams to support tech platforms and infrastructure needs
  • Maintain IT documentation, guides, and standard operating procedures 

Jira Administration & Automation 

  • Configure and manage Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and custom fields
  • Build automations to streamline IT and operational processes using Jira Automation rules
  • Work with internal teams to optimize Jira usage and ensure it supports business workflows efficiently 

Other Required Responsibilities 

  • Complete all training course assignments and adhere to the overall ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO 20252:2019 standards 

Qualifications


Required Experience 

  • 3-5 years of experience in a technical support or sysadmin role
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, Entra ID (Azure AD), and device management
  • Comfortable with scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with RMM tools like NinjaRMM or Kaseya
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset
  • Hands-on experience setting up and administering Jira projects
  • Familiarity with Jira Automation (e.g., triggers, conditions, smart values) 

 

Preferred Experience 

  • Exposure to ISO 27001 or other compliance frameworks
  • Basic AWS knowledge (EC2, IAM, S3)
  • Basic networking knowledge (VPN, firewalls, DNS
  • Google Workspace admin experience

The pay range for this role is:

70,000 - 75,000 USD per year (United States)
