Business Process Engineer

LeanDNA is helping solve the $150B problem that global manufacturers face–excess inventory tying up critical working capital and keeping manufacturing companies from being as efficient as they need to be. Without an effective way to optimize inventory, manufacturers are buying too much, too little, or placing inventory in the wrong place at the wrong time. Companies are stuck fighting operational fires related to critical inventory shortages, creating delays in delivering their product to customers on time.

LeanDNA's factory inventory optimization and shortage management solution quickly empowers supply chain professionals to dramatically reduce excess inventory, deliver on time, and establish operational command of their organization’s inventory operations. LeanDNA optimizes the inventory management process by adding the much-needed (and much-appreciated) artificial intelligence into the forgotten area of the business: The factory. It’s not just about smart inventory planning—true optimization occurs when procurement leaders have command over the operation, and the supply chain teams tasked with bringing those plans to life have total visibility, AI-driven recommendations, and a clear game plan for hitting their inventory goals every time.

About the role

LeanDNA is looking for an experienced Business Process Engineer to work directly with department heads across the organization. This is a hands-on consulting engagement focused on uncovering operational improvements and showing what becomes possible when AI is applied thoughtfully to day-to-day business processes.

You won't just be advising from the sidelines — you'll be in the room (or on the call), rolling up your sleeves with each team to map their current workflows, identify friction points, and bring practical AI-enabled solutions to life.

Position Type: Project-based contract

Commitment: 15 hours/week

Duration: 4 months

Location: US Remote or Austin, TX

What you'll do

  • Meet with department leaders to understand current workflows, bottlenecks, and manual effort in order to build and deliver working AI-powered solutions
  • Automate repetitive data entry in Salesforce, ensuring CRM data stays current and reducing the administrative burden on Sales team
  • Redesign the QBR creation process to automatically pull, structure, and format data — cutting prep time significantly and reduce administrative burden on Customer Success teams
  • Identify and implement AI-assisted improvements in finance workflows, such as automating report generation, flagging anomalies, or streamlining month-end processes
  • Build lightweight, repeatable solutions that teams can own and scale after the engagement ends
  • Create clear documentation for updated processes— what was built, how it works, and how to maintain it

Who you are

  • Proven experience in business process analysis, operations, or a related discipline
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation, and modern workflow tools to redesign and optimize business processes
  • Comfortable translating the value of AI tools for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills — you can earn trust quickly and facilitate productive conversations at all levels
  • Naturally curious and systems-minded; you see connections across departments that others miss
  • Self-directed and organized — you manage your time well across a part-time engagement
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations-focused software environments is a plus

What success looks like

At the end of the four month contract, LeanDNA will have working AI-powered solutions in place across multiple departments — not a deck full of ideas, but real tools that teams have implemented & are actively using. The right person for the position has experience creating processes that improve business operations and leaves teams capable, not dependent on external support.
