About the role

We are seeking a Cooking School Chef who is as comfortable commanding a stage as they are managing a kitchen. You are not just teaching; you are curating a signature experience.

As the lead of our boutique, 18-seat school, you are the face of our culinary programming. This role is a hybrid of chef, entertainer, and business leader. You will own the culinary identity of the school, driving everything from menu creation and class atmosphere to the commercial success of our programming.

Why This is a Unique Opportunity

  • ·Autonomy: You are the architect of our culinary education brand.
  • ·Platform: Leverage the prestige of the Saint Bibiana restaurant and the Hotel Bardo brand to build your reputation.
  • ·Connection: Lead intimate, 18-seat classes that prioritize human connection, storytelling, and high-touch hospitality over volume.

What you'll do

  1. Culinary Programming & Experience (The "Show")
    1. Design and execute seasonal class themes, workshops, and immersive culinary events that reflect the coastal Italian spirit of Saint Bibiana.
    2. Transform the kitchen into a classroom/stage, ensuring every session is interactive, educational, and fun.
    3. Develop curricula that range from foundational techniques for beginners to advanced masterclasses for the enthusiast.
  2. Brand Stewardship & Community Growth (The "Business")
    1. Champion the Brand: Act as the face of the school. Partner with our marketing and sales teams to drive class attendance and visibility.
    2. Cultivate Community: Build a loyal following of club members, local regulars, and hotel guests. Your ability to create "regulars" is a key performance metric.
    3. Collaborate: Partner with the Saint Bibiana restaurant team to ensure menu synergy and cross-promotional opportunities.
    4. Ownership: Take ownership of the full guest journey and revenue accountability
  3. Operational Excellence (The "Standards")
    1. Manage the "business of the kitchen": inventory, food cost control, vendor ordering, and sanitation compliance.
    2. Maintain the physical space to luxury hotel standards—the school must be as beautiful as it is functional.
    3. Ensure the quality, presentation, and consistency of all dishes meet the high bar set by the Hotel Bardo culinary team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Presence: You possess natural charisma and command a room with ease. You are a storyteller who loves to teach.
  • Adaptability: You understand that luxury hospitality requires both high-level culinary precision and a warm, inviting demeanor.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You don't just "show up to cook." You are invested in the commercial health of the school and proactive about filling seats through engagement and program design.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of facilitating engaging and interactive cooking sessions in a luxury environment
  • Bring not only expertise in the culinary arts but also the ability to effectively articulate concepts in a public forum
  • Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of team members and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by team members and guests
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Attend all resort-required meetings and training
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
  • 3–5 years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen environment.
