Director of Product Engineering, Certification

The Director of Product Engineering role will manage a small, high-performing team of Salesforce engineers and Product managers, driving product delivery and innovation. This role shapes the product strategy for LegitScript’s Certification product line, with a strong focus on business outcomes. By partnering closely with the General Manager, the Director will ensure alignment between engineering and product development efforts with business objectives, delivering high-quality products on time and within scope.


What You'll Do:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Oversee the engineering and product management functions for the Certification product line.
    • Develop and execute product and engineering roadmaps in alignment with company goals, operations (internal users), and customer needs.
    • Provide strategic insights on product improvements and market trends.
    • Develop and manage the budget, forecasting expenses and optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient, strategic use of funds across product and engineering initiatives.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
    • Partner closely with the General Manager to align product development with business objectives.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, operations) to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce engineers and product managers.
    • Indirectly manage offshore and near shore resources.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Delivery & Operations:
    • Ensure successful delivery of products and features, balancing speed and quality through shared OKRs.
    • Monitor performance metrics, ensuring product development aligns with timelines and budget.
    • Manage resources and optimize processes for high-impact delivery.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide guidance on best practices in engineering and product development, with a strong understanding of Salesforce Service Cloud. Ensure product scalability, security, and alignment with technical standards.

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, product management, or a combination of both, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers.
  • Proven experience building revenue producing SaaS products and applications that service external customers.
  • Demonstrative ability to align product strategy with business goals and drive the implementation and execution of that strategy to successful outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of agile development processes and product delivery cycles.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platforms, specifically Experience Cloud and Service Cloud. 
  • Proficiency in Salesforce development tools, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and APIs.
  • Understanding of integration patterns and tools (e.g., MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs).
  • Familiarity in integrating with web services via published web services and AWS lambdas
  • Experience with Salesforce licensing, the governor limits, and ability to work with the engineering teams to design solutions that house appropriate processes/data
  • Experience leveraging JIRA for tracking all product activities, as well as integration with Salesforce.
  • Ability to effectively balance tactical with strategic.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and balance competing priorities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
