The Manager, Software Engineering will lead two scrum teams  of engineers to develop and deliver software solutions. They will oversee project planning, ensure best practices, and mentor team members. Responsibilities include aligning technical efforts with business goals and fostering collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will have operated in a SOC 2/ISO 27001 environment, with experience leading front-end focused development teams.



What You'll Do:

  • Manage multiple scrum teams comprised of both software and quality engineers helping them succeed in their careers and day-to-day work
  • Coach and mentor our teams to improve both their technical skills and business acumen
  • Ensure teams meet their shared and individual goals to achieve business success
  • Knowledgeable of micro-services architectures deployed in AWS and be comfortable engaging in architectural discussions
  • Oversee team execution, performance, and timely delivery based on company priorities
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and security across our deployed products
  • Collaborate closely with our Product Manager to align the team to meet business goals
  • Conduct performance assessments and manage compensation and career growth
  • Ensure that coding, quality, and security best practices are being followed 
  • Ensure our teams of engineers are aligned with the business mission
  • Be a values and culture champion within our team



What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and overall performance management of both developers and quality engineers
  • Expert level knowledge of Jira and project management in a Scrum/Agile environment highly desired
  • Experience deploying systems into cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with Node.js and Angular preferred
  • Knowledge of Ruby, Python, and Bash desired
  • Previous experience working in SOC 2 or ISO 27001 environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to lead discussions in diverse groups of varying size.
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills as well as the ability to use good judgment and make strong independent decisions.
  • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members along with willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance.
  • Well developed ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English
