Associate Director/Director, Business Development

Overview

Working with a wide variety of clients, this role mixes strategic and transactional relationships. This requires the ability and flexibility to adapt different strategies for different stakeholders – from business development with new clients through to developing solutions with more established customers. It also presents the opportunity to shape offerings that bring forth the full scope of services that Lexitas offers.  The Associate Director/Director, BD will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with key decision-makers at biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies to secure business opportunities for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients (especially at the senior executive level), and leverage these relationships to generate new business opportunities and drive revenue growth
  • Manage client opportunities from prospecting, solution development, RFI/RFP process, BID defense, SOW finalization, and successful transition to Lexitas implementation & delivery teams
  • Promote Lexitas capabilities and solutions through lead generation activities (e.g., conferences, trade shows, webinars)
  • Facilitate the preparedness of the Lexitas team in attending any client meetings. For example, Bid Defense Meetings, 1:1 C-Suite engagements 
  • Positively interact with Lexitas operations personnel, keeping track of study status for projects with sponsors and help coordinate change orders when notified of a change of scope by operations.
  • Support the development of account strategies & implementation plans (Customer Playbooks) and expand through accounts
  • Manage, update, maintain & record all relevant activities in the client database (Salesforce.com) for the assigned territory to ensure its data is accurate and current so support forecasting efforts
  • Collect, compile, analyze & present data related to business development

Requirements

Education:
Required: a bachelor’s degree required, and an MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years in a business development/sales related position in the CRO, or pharma/biotech industry required. Ophthalmology and long sales cycle experience is preferred.

  • Communication, Collaboration & Teamwork: Proven track record of developing high-level business contacts. Is thorough in capturing all relevant information in key communications.  Gets point across clearly both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates ability to lead without authority.
  • Strategic Agility: Understands strategic pillars set by Sr. Leadership; Organizes and structures resources to meet customer needs and differentiate Lexitas from the competition;  Demonstrates ability to identify, qualify and develop sales leads.
  • Driving Innovation & Change: Proposes changes that improve results. Generates a large number and wide variety of relevant solutions to problems. 
Must be able to travel up to 50%

Physical Requirements

Position requires: ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about conference or meeting locations as required; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.

The pay range for this role is:

115,000 - 130,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
