GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Education Strategy Project Director will play a pivotal role in leading the launch of a Flagship School in 32805. This strategic position is crucial in executing our initiatives, managing complex projects, and ensuring stakeholder engagement. The Director will oversee all project planning, risk management, and team collaboration, integrating equity considerations into every project facet. 
 
The Education Strategy Project Director requires cross-functional coordination with department leaders within Lift Orlando, budgeting and financial planning, contract review and negotiation, and oversight and management of critical workstreams in partnership with education partners such as Purpose-Built Communities and the William Julius Wilson Institute (HCZ). This role demands a blend of strategic vision and hands-on management to drive educational excellence and community impact.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Stakeholder and Relationship Management:
    • Conduct comprehensive stakeholder analysis to identify, prioritize, and understand stakeholders' needs, expectations, and their influence on the project's success.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their engagement and support throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to provide updates, gather feedback, and address concerns promptly.
    • Contribute to developing, maintaining, and supporting governance and board structures.
  • Communication and Leadership:
    • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information to diverse audiences effectively.
    • Inspire and motivate team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
    • Address conflicts and challenges proactively, promoting a cheerful and solution-oriented team culture.
  • Project Planning and Organization:
    • Create comprehensive project plans that outline objectives, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

    • Implement effective organizational strategies to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Risk and Problem Management:
    • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that could impact the project, assessing their likelihood and potential consequences.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of identified risks.
    • Apply strong analytical skills to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Negotiation and Adaptability:
    • Negotiate agreements, contracts, and solutions that align with project goals and stakeholder interests.
    • Balance competing priorities and interests to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
    • Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting project plans and strategies to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Educational Systems Knowledge:
    • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of educational policies, regulations, and operational requirements for operating schools and districts.
    • Exhibit a deep understanding of the challenges and best practices in managing educational institutions effectively.
    • Apply this knowledge to ensure the Flagship School meets all regulatory and operational standards.
  • Team Collaboration and Time Management:

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Project Management, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience, focusing on educational settings.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of educational policies, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusivity, and transparency.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and building strong, collaborative relationships.
