About the role


We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager who will play a critical role in leading the FP&A function and providing valuable business insights to drive decision-making. Reporting to the VP of Capital Markets, this candidate will be responsible for FP&A budgeting/planning, managerial reporting, defining, and monitoring key metrics, operations analysis, and programs/systems/policies to support each. This is a key, hands-on role as business partner and analyst where you will have broad scope and autonomy to work with the Leadership Team and Department heads across the organization.


Successful candidates will be highly analytical and possess a strong passion for personal accountability and setting high standards. Candidates should be excited to navigate a growth-oriented, rapidly changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment. This person will be comfortable juggling multiple tasks under tight deadlines and must be a strong writer and communicator at senior levels of the organization.


This role is based in Oakland, CA or Salt Lake City, UT. Remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates.


Responsibilities

  • Create and lead the long-term planning/forecasting processes, including annual budgeting and quarterly rolling forecasting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Integrated)
  • Build monthly and quarterly Budget vs. Actual and KPI review packages for Department Heads, the Leadership team, and the Board of Directors
  • Lead monthly variance analysis and forecasting meetings with Department Heads
  • Provide decision support to business leaders and the executive team on investment, project, and strategic developments
  • Collaborate with Accounting to streamline financial close process and financial reporting
  • Serve as a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable financial solutions
  • Spearhead ad-hoc projects to further improve the overall performance of the team and organization

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, accounting, economics, or related
  • 6+ years of work experience in Corporate Planning/Strategy, FP&A or a related field (investment banking, strategy consulting, or auditing)
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience managing budgets and building supporting processes and systems in partnership with functional leaders
  • Extensive experience building detailed 3 statement forecast models
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Experience with Vena (or a similar FP&A tool)

Preferred Skills


  • MBA/CPA or equivalent credentials preferred
  • Experience in public companies and/or high-growth private companies
  • Experience managing international budgets and several hundred-million-dollar capital projects
