Liminal is the actionable intelligence company. We've built a proprietary Living Graph — a verified knowledge architecture that maps the real-time structure of Identity, Fraud, and Cybersecurity — and the agentic AI systems and human verification layer to make it trustworthy. Visa, Mastercard, Google, and JPMC use it to make strategic and revenue decisions. Series A, 80 people, offices in NYC, Salt Lake City, Porto, Lisbon, and Manila. The architecture works, the customers are real, and we're scaling the team.
Liminal delivers verified intelligence to Visa, Mastercard, Google, JPMC, and the world's leading platforms in Identity, Fraud, and Cybersecurity. "Verified" isn't a marketing word — it's a system-level commitment. Every signal that enters the Living Graph is validated before it reaches a customer. That standard applies to the intelligence layer and to the platform itself. Nothing ships that isn't ready.
We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own quality across our cloud-based platform. This is a high-impact, standalone role — you'll be the single point of accountability for quality, working closely with multiple engineering teams to drive automation, enforce standards, and ensure every release meets a high bar. The split is roughly 70% test automation and 30% manual QA, with direct involvement in the release process.
You'll help the team move faster without sacrificing reliability — and you'll be expected to push back when quality is at risk. Long-term, this role will play a key part in building and leading a QA function, including hiring and mentoring additional QA engineers as the organization scales.
In your first 30 days, you've mapped the platform's architecture, testing landscape, and release process. You've identified the highest-risk gaps in automation coverage and shipped your first automated tests.
In your first 90 days, you've meaningfully expanded automated test coverage across web applications, APIs, and data workflows. Engineering teams are pulling you into design conversations early, and you've established yourself as the quality standard-setter.
In your first year, you've built a comprehensive automation suite that materially reduces regression risk and release friction, driven systemic quality improvements across teams, and begun building the QA function — hiring and mentoring the next engineers on your team.
You've owned QA on a modern, cloud-based platform and know what it means to be the single person accountable for quality. You have hands-on experience with Playwright, web services and APIs, Node.js-based systems, and databases (MongoDB, Postgres). You've built and maintained automated test suites, owned test case management processes, and worked in Agile/Scrum environments. You're comfortable pushing back on engineering and product when quality is at risk — and you do it with clarity, not friction. You balance pragmatism with high standards and communicate tradeoffs, risk, and priorities in a way that earns trust across teams.
Experience testing AI- or ML-driven workflows. Familiarity with GCP infrastructure. Experience scaling QA practices from early-stage to mature teams. Prior experience in a QA lead or manager role, including mentoring engineers. Familiarity with design collaboration tools like Figma.
Quality is in the architecture, not just the process. Liminal's entire value proposition is verified intelligence — 100% human-checked before it reaches a customer. That same standard applies to the platform. You're not joining a company that treats QA as a gate to rush past. You're joining one where "verified" is the product.
You'll build the function, not just fill the role. This starts as a standalone position with high autonomy and direct accountability. As Liminal scales, you'll shape how QA works here — hiring, mentoring, and defining the standards for a growing team.
The platform is real and the stakes are actual. You'll be ensuring quality on a system that the world's largest platforms in Identity, Fraud, and Cybersecurity use to make high-stakes decisions. Your work directly protects the trust that customers place in the intelligence they see.
We respect your time. Here's what to expect:
