Position Overview: 

We are looking for a QA Engineer with a strong technical background in a .NET (and Java is a nice to have!) environment who can actively engage with the business, product, and engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will prioritize quality at every stage, from initial requirements gathering to final deployment, and bring a pragmatic, solution-focused approach to testing. This role includes both automated and manual testing and the ability to present results to the company or customers through regular demo sessions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Test Planning and Strategy: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to participate in requirements discussions, ensuring testability and quality considerations are embedded early in the process. 

• Develop and document comprehensive test plans for .NET and some Java-based applications. 

1. Test Case Development: 

• Design, write, and maintain test cases and scripts that cover all functionalities, including edge cases. 

• Prioritize coverage for business-critical features and “hold the line” to ensure these critical features are fully functional prior to release. 

1. Automation Testing:  

• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks using .NET and Java-compatible tools like NUnit, MSTest, Selenium, or TestNG. 

• Write and execute automated test scripts in C#, Java, Javascript, or other relevant languages to optimize test efficiency. 

1. Manual Testing: 

• Conduct manual testing for complex scenarios that require human judgment. 

• Perform regression testing to ensure new features do not impact existing functionality. 

1. Performance Testing: 

• Use performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner to analyze how our applications perform under various conditions. 

• Identify performance bottlenecks and communicate solutions. 

1. Bug Tracking and Reporting: 

• Use tools like JIRA to document, track, and manage defects throughout the testing process. 

• Clearly articulate issues to development teams and verify fixes, prioritizing those that could impact customer experience or business outcomes. 

1. Collaboration & Communication: 

• Work closely with developers, business stakeholders, and product managers to understand requirements and clarify expectations. 

• Take part in Agile ceremonies, contributing from a quality perspective. 

• Run demos for internal teams or customers to showcase the quality and functionality of the product. 

1. Continuous Improvement: 

• Stay current with industry trends in QA, particularly within the .NET and Java ecosystems. 

• Continuously suggest improvements to processes, tools, and testing strategies to enhance overall product quality. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

1. Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in .NET (C#) for both manual and automation testing. 

• Nice to have Java & Javascript as well 

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc) for integrating testing into the deployment pipeline. 

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS. 

1. Automation Tools: 

• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, NUnit, MSTest, TestNG, or similar. 

• Ability to build and extend automated test suites for complex applications. 

1. Testing Tools: 

• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g. TestRail). 

• Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g. JIRA). 

1. Soft Skills: 

• Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders. 

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and a focus on delivering pragmatic, high-quality solutions. 

• Ability to run demos, providing clear insights to business and customer audiences.
