ABOUT THE POSITION

Linxup is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure and tooling that powers our applications and services. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps practices, with a passion for creating reliable, scalable, and efficient systems. This role involves leading technical initiatives and driving continuous improvement in our platform architecture.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Platform Development: Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Automation: Develop and maintain automation tools and processes for deployment, monitoring, and operations (CI/CD pipelines, configuration management)
  • System Reliability & Security: Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the core platform services, including proactive monitoring and incident response
  • Observability & Monitoring: Implement and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to proactively identify and resolve system issues
  • Architecture & Strategy: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define the long-term platform strategy, architecture, and technology roadmap
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Serve as a technical leader and mentor to the broader engineering organization, coaching others on best practices
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for infrastructure cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform architecture, processes, and standards
  • Operational Excellence: Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to and resolve critical platform incidents, conducting thorough root cause analysis

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE role
  • Expertise in at least one major cloud provider such as GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure
  • Proven experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) - experience with Java is a plus
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls
  • Certification from a major cloud provider is preferred (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional)
