Vice President, Direct Store Delivery and Distribution

Location: remote USA anywhere

Travel Required: up to 75% domestic travel as needed

The Vice President, Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and Distribution will meet and lead the high growth sales initiative for the distributor sales team at Liquid Death.  This key leadership role will be responsible for leading the execution of the retail strategy with Liquid Death’s wholesaler network to achieve or exceed sales targets.  


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for development and execution of strategic plans to achieve/exceed sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base through improving and expanding distribution and increasing market share.
  • Understand and report roll-up of the P&L across wholesalers and products to deliver positive financial performance versus plan 
  • Lead the Field Sales and Distribution organization through performance management, leadership development, and ensuring top talent is in place.
  • Collaborates and establishes strong working relationships cross-functionally including National Account team, retail, operations, finance, and marketing teams.
  • Stay in front of changing market conditions, market trends and guide management in developing short-term and long-term sales strategies and business objectives.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish Distributor KPI’s, track performance, leverage incentives and continuously optimize field sales and distribution strategies to maximize growth
  • Retail Execution: oversee field sales teams to manage wholesaler instore merchandising display execution and overall brand presence with key retailers
  • Distribution Management: Strengthen and expand partnerships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners to ensure seamless execution and market coverage


Qualification Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 10+ years of Director level sales leadership experience in relatable beverage distribution environment managing a wholesaler network previously with a minimum of 25+ direct/ indirect reports required  
  • Experience setting, tracking & measuring KPI’s and measuring progress vs. plan
  • Ability to plan and forecast sales growth
  • Strong financial acumen, organizational & analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills  
  • Sound understanding of Nielsen, IRI data and ability to derive business insights (consumption/ scan data)
  • Advanced presentation skills to present at the C-level 
  • Strong leadership skills to provide performance management, mentoring, training & constructive feedback
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams across organizations to achieve results
  • Deep comfort with joining a high growth start up environment where a high degree of ambiguity and adaptability to flex to market dynamics are critical 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% 


The typical salary range for this position is: $183,000 - $275,000
