About the Job
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Operations team to review, maintain, and update accurate BOMs. Ensure BOMs reflect the most current cost structures and production processes. This includes providing insights on new BOM costing for new innovation.
Perform detailed costing analysis for products, including direct and indirect costs. Support pricing decisions and cost-saving initiatives through comprehensive cost analysis.
Review and analyze purchase orders and pricing to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and cost targets. Work with internal teams to resolve pricing discrepancies and optimize procurement processes as will as manage any contractual.
Work collaboratively with IT & OPS on new projects for improving end-to-end procurement processes/integrations to ensure all accounting & pricing information is properly reported
Leverage NetSuite to track and analyze cost data. Ensure accurate cost entries and support system enhancements related to cost accounting functions.
Prepare and present cost reports, including variance analyses and cost forecasts. Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and financial planning.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within cost accounting and recommend best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Work collaboratively with the Technical Accounting department to provide quarterly reviews of inventory obsolescence and net realizable (E&O/NRV analysis) & provide updates to management & audit requests as needed.
Manage SOX compliance as it relates to cost accounting procedures to ensure proper segregation of duties in accordance with the COSO framework.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation for cost accounting activities.
Provide reporting for both internal and stakeholders on costing & SOH reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA encouraged.
Experience with ERP systems is required, specifically NetSuite, a plus.
Experience with Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups, Index, etc) required.
5-7 years of cost accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience in the startup or CPG sector. Comanufacturing experience is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, US GAAP & full-cycle audit experience.
Prior experience with multiple subsidiaries/entities strongly encouraged
Ability to leverage technology for efficient data gathering and analysis; comfort with digesting large sets of data & providing analysis.
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with other departments, vendors, and upper management.
The salary range for this role is $92,000 - $113,000 annually.
The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes equity and benefits.
