About the role
The Senior Manager, FP&A / Finance serves as a strategic business partner and hands-on operator. Responsible for building the finance function from the ground up, driving financial planning, analysis, and reporting while providing insights that shape the firm’s growth strategy. Serves as both builder and operator: designing the processes, models, and dashboards that guide decision-making while also running the day-to-day financial operations.
What you'll do
1. Build and own the firm’s financial planning process, including annual budgets, long-range plans, and rolling forecasts.
2. Lead scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to inform strategic decisions and risk assessments.
3. Build out Pricing function including models for existing and future product types
4. Partner with leadership on pricing, staffing, and investment strategies.
5. Develop and maintain detailed financial models to track revenue, expenses, utilization, and profitability.
6. Translate financial results into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
7. Create executive-level reporting packages and dashboards to monitor KPIs and firm performance.
8. Establish core Finance processes, policies, and systems, including budgeting, reporting, and forecasting cadence.
9. Implement tools and systems to improve accuracy, speed, and visibility of financial information.
10. Partner with Accounting and Business Insights to inform data structure.
11. Serve as the founding leader of the Finance function, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
12. Build cross-functional partnerships across Operations, HR, and Legal teams.
13. Prepare for future team growth by documenting processes and creating scalable frameworks.
Qualifications
1. 7–10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting; experience in professional services or law firm environment a plus.
2. Strong modeling skills (Excel/Google Sheets); ability to build dynamic, driver-based financial models.
3. Demonstrated success establishing finance processes and influencing business decisions.
4. Excellent communication skills with ability to distill complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders.
5. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wearing multiple hats.
6. CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required.
