About the role


As a high-volume and growing immigration law firm, we require an experienced Staff Accountant to collaborate with the Controller on accounting operations for six affiliated Limited Liability companies. Daily activities include preparing and recording financial transactions, including but not limited to accounts receivable and payable, payroll entry, cost allocations, general ledger analysis, inter-company transactions, and month and year-end closings, in accordance with accounting principles and corporate policies, using cash basis accounting.


What you'll do

  • Perform general accounting and other related financial duties for multiple companies.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate recording of all accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations of company bank accounts.
  • Month-end close activities and reporting, including reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements.
  • Input payroll information and process biweekly payroll for small companies with 10-15 employees.
  • Reconcile all credit card purchases to monthly statements.
  • Process 1099 forms and other relevant organizational forms.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed and recommend proper techniques for discovering and preventing fraud.
  • Perform other related accounting and financial duties as assigned. 

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of accounting work experience.
  • 1-2 years of payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting system is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
