About the role

  • The Sr. Accounting Manager oversees the daily financial operations of the Firm, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The role is a key part of middle management, balancing hands-on accounting tasks with leadership responsibilities. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, providing financial insights, and supporting strategic decision-making. Leads the accounting team, driving success in the execution of daily responsibilities.
  • Salary: 130k/Year

What you'll do

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department including the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Eliminate manual accounting processes through automation and the integration of new technologies and systems.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Assign duties and review team members’ work to ensure proper handling and completion of duties.
  • Assist with tax compliance and reporting.
  • Work with external auditors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (master’s degree preferred).
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a dynamic accounting environment
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role managing a team
  • Extensive experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls.
