About the role
We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer with deep experience in Swift and ideally in Point-of-Sale (POS) app development. You’ll be a core part of the team maintaining and evolving Liven’s iOS-based POS client, enabling seamless experiences for hospitality venues globally. This role combines technical ownership, hands-on coding, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain Liven’s POS iOS app using Swift and iOS frameworks.
- Build new features, optimize performance, and reduce app crashes (target: 20% reduction).
- Integrate with backend systems, third-party APIs, and hardware devices relevant to POS.
- Collaborate with Android, Backend, QA, and Product teams to deliver seamless functionality.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automate build and deployment workflows.
- Monitor performance metrics and proactively fix bugs or bottlenecks.
- Participate in code reviews and raise the bar for mobile engineering excellence
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in iOS app development.
- Proficient in Swift and Objective-C, with deep understanding of UIKit and iOS internals.
- Experience with POS applications or other transactional systems is a major plus.
- Strong grasp of iOS architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture).
- Familiarity with Firebase, real-time data syncing, and app analytics tools.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing, and App Store deployment.
- Bonus: Experience mentoring junior engineers or working in a lead capacity.
Good to Have
- POS domain expertise – understanding of customer flows and hardware integrations.
- Firebase – Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Messaging.
- CI/CD setup – Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Real-time architecture – WebSockets, push notifications.
- Team collaboration – Effective communication with product, QA, and engineering squads.
