About the role
We're on the lookout for a hands-on, product-minded Engineering Lead (Full Stack) to drive the development of new features, architecture improvements, and scale our platform. This is a rare opportunity to lead a squad of talented engineers while still contributing to code, shaping our product roadmap, and delivering real impact across Liven’s ecosystem.
You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that delight users and help venues grow.
What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a full-stack engineering team, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture
- Own the technical delivery of your squad, from discovery to deployment
- Design and build scalable, maintainable systems across frontend and backend
- Collaborate with product and design to define scope, requirements, and technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to drive engineering best practices
- Contribute to architectural decisions and advocate for clean, reliable, and secure code
- Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD, observability, and engineering processes
- Act as a key contributor in planning, prioritisation, and delivery of product features
- Work with stakeholders across the business to understand user needs and balance tradeoffs
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role
- Proven experience building full-stack web applications at scale (React, Node.js, Typescript or similar)
- Strong understanding of system design, microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines
- Passion for mentoring, coaching, and growing engineering talent
- Product-focused mindset: you care about the why, not just the how
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Bonus: Experience in fintech, payments, loyalty, or hospitality tech
Good to Have
- Experience working in fintech, payments, loyalty, or hospitality tech
- Exposure to GraphQL, event-driven architectures, or serverless frameworks
- Familiarity with security and compliance considerations in regulated environments
- Experience with mobile development (React Native or Flutter)
- Track record of contributing to developer productivity or internal tooling
- Startup or scale-up experience with a bias for shipping and iterating quickly
