The Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer for the Living Security Unify data engineering team.  The ideal candidate has strong cross-functional technical knowledge and experience building large scale, data-driven enterprise software in the cloud.  You are intimately familiar with the tools of the data trade, and you love ensuring the smooth and quick operation of software products that are fueled by data.  You are not intimidated by challenges, nor afraid to share your opinion.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our Unify data engineering team, you will:

  • Engage in data modeling efforts to align new and existing data sources with Living Security data models
  • Collaborate with data scientists to ensure ingested data supports core business needs
  • Support ongoing optimization and maintenance of our data processing infrastructure
  • Propose new technologies that enhance, optimize, or accelerate our ability to process data and solve data-related problems for our customers
  • Build integrations that retrieve data from a variety of security products via third-party APIs
  • Monitor data processing pipelines to ensure their availability, accuracy, and security
  • Have a direct impact on the success and direction of the product and the future of human risk management

Required Experience

  • 3+ years professional experience developing large scale data processing pipelines for production workloads
  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts and best practices, and a curiosity about the evolving data engineering technology landscape
  • Fluency in Python
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases; experience with PostgreSQL is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with AWS; experience with Athena, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Step Functions, and Glue is a plus
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field is preferred
  • Exposure to data integration tools like Airflow and DBT is a plus
