Role Overview
Loggerhead’s IT department is seeking a Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business teams and technology groups, outline processes, and pinpoint areas for improvement. Main duties involve recording requirements, assessing process effectiveness, assisting with testing, and getting involved in implementation and training activities. This position calls for technical knowledge, excellent communication abilities, and strong organizational skills to help achieve agreement across various teams.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Lead sessions to translate business strategies and objectives into standardized business requirements for solutions.
- Oversee Agile activities, organize product backlogs, and create epics, features, user stories, and tasks.
- Gather and analyze data to support business cases and recommend systems requirements.
- Confirm that requirements are understood and approved by stakeholders.
- Manage requirement traceability and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate acceptance tests with users, including development of UAT test scenarios and scripts.
- Prepare, deliver, and assess training and supplementary materials.
- Identify issues, opportunities, and solutions during the project lifecycle to support delivery and adoption.
- Review API documentation for solution identification and understanding of business systems and processes.
- Use tools such as wireframes, design templates, BRDs, FRDs, process maps, workflow diagrams, and data mapping spreadsheets for clarity and stakeholder alignment.
- Establish and maintain relationships with partners for optimized systems integration.
- Perform daily system analytics for performance optimization and troubleshooting.
- Utilize Azure DevOps, Asana, Visio, PowerBi, and Office 365 products to manage requirements, projects, and collaboration.
- Employ Postman for building and executing API requests and validating responses.
- Carry out other duties as needed.
Top Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance sector.
- Strong background with Claims, Policy or Billing Administration systems.
- Ability to develop stakeholder relationships and apply a customer-focused approach.
- Skilled in eliciting, articulating, and documenting processes and business requirements.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodology in Product Development and Software Development Life Cycles.
- Capable of facilitating large groups across disciplines.
- Experience working in fast-paced and dynamic environments with evolving requirements.
- Proficient verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of creating reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts.
- Able to participate in multiple projects in line with PMO standards and procedures.
- Experience in cloud-based work environments.
- Proficient with troubleshooting cloud technologies using tools like Postman and DataDog.
- Able to interpret and create API specifications.
- Experienced in writing, executing, and interpreting relational and non-relational query languages.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Business Analysis or Project Management certification is advantageous.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work arrangement, splitting time between remote work and corporate headquarters.
- Flexible hours and/or weekend work may be required.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
Travel: Minimal, as necessary.
