What is the Role?

As part of Loggerhead’s Claims team, the Senior Claim Representative is responsible for handling complex 1st and 3rd party homeowner claims.  The Senior Claim Representative will deliver exceptional customer service to our customers through proactive collaboration with customers and other essential vendors to document, estimate, and adjust losses.  This is a great opportunity for personal growth with an emerging industry leader and be well positioned for further advancement within the organization!


A Day in the Life could include:

  • Taking and responding to FNOLs, opening exposures and documenting within the claim management system
  • Making 1st contacts, setting expectations, reviewing coverages and deductibles, and offering emergency services to our customers in need
  • Coordinating virtual inspections with customers and/or contractors to help document losses and guide the adjustment process
  • Taking recorded statements of Policyholders, Claimants and other involved parties
  • Investigate and evaluate injury claims and report eligible claimants for Section 111 compliance
  • Dispatching field adjusters, contractors or other experts as needed to investigate coverage or liability, and evaluate damages
  • Prepare and send written communications with customers, claimants or their representatives
  • Collaborate with the Special Investigate Unit and/or Counsel on potentially fraudulent claims
  • Review all investigative materials to evaluate coverage and liability and documenting within the claim management system
  • Make recommendations in support of payment or denial
  • Issue payments within the claim management system
  • Collaborate with the Underwriting and Customer Service teams to ensure all risk exposures are known
  • Assisting other team members as needed
  • Complying with all Florida statutory adjusting requirements and the Unfair Claims Practices Act
  • Maintaining all continuing education licensing requirements

Skills:

  • Excellent team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a broad range of internal/external contacts and roles, including vendors, Public Adjusters, Contractors and Attorneys
  • Ability to contribute and collaborate as a team member while working proactively and independently
  • Excellent presentation, persuasion, written, telephonic and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, time management, and analytical skills
  • Enthusiasm for growth, learning and developing new opportunities with the company as it launches new products and services for its Policyholders

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 5+ years industry experience adjusting 1st and 3rd party homeowner claims in Florida required
  • Demonstrable experience performing each key responsibility satisfactorily
  • Significant knowledge of building construction, damage evaluation and repair methods
  • Significant knowledge in internet software, MS Office products and Xactware products
  • Knowledge of injury mechanics, human anatomy, and medical treatments

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or equivalent experience
  • Insurance related designations, such as Associate in Claims (AIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
  • Florida all lines adjuster license

Working Conditions:

  • Remote work environment with occasional time spent at the Tampa Corporate Headquarters for training and corporate / departmental meetings
  • May be required to work flexible hours and/or weekends dependent on claim volume and Catastrophe
  • Travel: Minimum, as required

Job Type: Full-time


Salary: $62,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year


Schedule: Monday to Friday


Experience: Homeowner personal lines claim adjusting: 5 years (Required)
