What’s the Role?
As part of Loggerhead’s Information Technology (IT) team, the Web Developer will contribute to the development of responsive, scalable, and visually appealing web applications. In this role, you’ll build features, craft intuitive user interfaces, and take on some UX/UI design tasks, working alongside a collaborative team. If you’re eager to showcase your skills in both coding and design while delivering great user experiences, this is the role for you!
A day in the life could include:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize secure web applications running on WordPress and Unqork platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product manager, business analysts, UX designers, backend developers and QA to create intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications to improve performance and user experience.
- Stay curious about front-end and design trends, applying new skills to your work.
What you’ll need to be a top candidate:
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience developing externally facing solutions leveraging HTML5, CSS3, PHP or JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Python is a plus.
- Ability to create clean, functional interfaces with an interest in UX/UI design.
- Familiarity with UX principles (e.g., usability, accessibility) or design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch) is a plus.
- Ability to create responsive and adaptive designs using frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
- Knowledge of how to ensure applications work across different browsers and devices.
- Understanding techniques to optimize web performance, including lazy loading, code splitting, and image optimization.
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha) and debugging tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools).
- Ability to integrate APIs (RESTful and GraphQL) and handle asynchronous operations.
- Experience with low-code platforms (e.g., Unqork, OutSystems, Mendix) specifically for developing websites and web pages, including:
- Utilizing visual development tools to create user interfaces.
- Implementing workflows and business logic.
- Integrating third-party services and APIs within low-code environments.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Understand search engine optimization (SEO) practices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
