About the Role

Hi, I'm Yan, Head of Engineering at Loop, and I'm hiring a Senior Frontend Developer to build the interfaces where businesses manage their money across borders. In this role, you'll design UI that handles real complexity - multi-currency balances, pending transactions, FX rates that shift - while making it feel simple.

This is an onsite position at our downtown Toronto office (Adelaide and Spadina).

Why We Exist

Small businesses have been underserved by traditional banks. Most businesses operate globally, yet moving money across borders is still painfully hard. Banking fees are opaque, while the process and time to send or receive money internationally is decades old. The tools offered to businesses are only suitable for companies with finance and treasury teams of 20.

Loop exists to change that.

We're building the banking infrastructure for businesses that operate globally by default. Multi-currency accounts. Seamless international payments. Modern systems to manage company finances. The things that should have existed years ago.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build end-to-end features in Next.JS
• Design UI that makes financial complexity feel simple
• Work directly with product and customers to understand problems
• Make trade-off decisions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
• Own features from requirements through production
• Write tests, set up monitoring, care about what happens at 2am

What We're Looking For

• 5-8 years building production software
• Strong React and TypeScript
• Product mindset - you think about the user's problem, not just the ticket
• You understand that in fintech, precision and trust matter
• You can work directly with stakeholders and make informed decisions

Bonus: Financial services experience, deep accessibility knowledge, opinions about how AI changes frontend development.

What we offer

• Salary range CAD$130,000 to CAD$160,000 base annual, commensurate with experience
• Equity ranging 0.01-0.1%
• 3 weeks vacation

Interview Process

2. 15 minutes video call to discuss the opportunity and the organization with Mandy, People and Business Operations Specialist
3. 30 minutes video call conversation with Yan, Head of Engineering
4. 60 minutes in person technical discussion with Ian, Senior Frontend Developer and 30 minutes in person meeting with Cato, CEO and Co-Founder
5. Come do a work trial with us for 2-3 days (this will be paid)
6. Background check and offer
