Hi, I'm Arjun, Director of Product, at Loop and I am hiring a Payment Operations Manager to optimize our processes and enhance operational efficiency by bridging finance, operations, and technology to our ambitious goals. This role is an onsite position at our downtown Toronto office (Adelaide and Spadina).

Where You Come In


You will play a pivotal role in our financial ecosystem. This role combines finance, operations, and technology to drive efficiency, accuracy, and innovation in our financial processes. You’ll oversee critical functions included but not limited to money movement, reconciliations, and transaction reporting, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations and exceptional customer experience.


What You'll Be Doing


Payment Operations Management:

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including payment processing, refunds, chargebacks, and settlements.
  • Develop and execute workflows for transaction monitoring, fund allocation, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate customer money movement while minimizing operational risks.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Build and maintain financial dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as transaction success rates, processing times, and cost per transaction.
  • Collaborate with the data team to analyze trends, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on operational metrics for leadership and stakeholders.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation:

  • Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements related to payments and money movement.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company and customer assets.
  • Act as a liaison with external auditors, banks, and regulators during audits or reviews.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and reduce operational costs.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to automate financial workflows and integrate new technologies.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of financial tools or systems to support scaling operations.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with customer support teams to resolve financial inquiries and disputes, interacting with customers directly as necessary.
  • Collaborate with finance and product teams to align operational processes with broader business goals.
  • Partner with external vendors, payment processors, and banking partners to ensure optimal performance and support.


What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years in financial operations, accounting, or a related role, ideally in a FinTech or startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, payment processing, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools).
  • Familiarity with financial regulations (e.g., PCI compliance, AML, PSD2).
  • Proven ability to analyze complex processes and implement practical, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and effectively convey financial concepts and information
  • across teams and present to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and are able to work in a fast-changing environment
  • You are comfortable working through ambiguous situations and managing multiple priorities

What we offer

  • Salary range CAD$70,000-$90,000 annual, commensurate with experience 
  • Equity ranging 0.01-0.1%
  • 3 weeks vacation 
  • Enrollment in group's health benefits after probation period


Interview Process

  • 30 minutes video call to discuss the opportunity and the organization with Arjun, Director of Product
  • 60 minutes in person meeting with two team members
  • Take home assignment
  • 60 minutes in person meeting with Cato, CEO and Co-Founder
  • Background check and offer
