Hi, I'm Cato, CEO and Co-Founder of Loop and I am hiring a Business Development Representative to help fuel our sales engine for businesses across Canada. This role is an onsite position at our downtown Toronto office.

We are seeking an energetic and ambitious Business Development Representative to help fuel our sales engine. This entry-level sales role is perfect for someone with a hunter mentality and a desire to kickstart their career in sales by generating a pipeline of leads for our Account Executives to close.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead Generation: Rigorously prospect for new business by making outbound calls, sending emails, and utilizing social selling techniques to meet and exceed your daily goal of 100 new business contacts.
  • Qualification: Assess the needs and potential of prospects to determine their fit for Loop's solutions, qualifying leads for the Account Executive team.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Collaborate with the sales team to execute strategies that build a robust sales pipeline and continuously replenish it with high-quality leads.
  • Market Research: Keep a finger on the pulse of the market to identify new opportunities and understand the competitive landscape.
  • Collaboration: Work in tandem with the sales and marketing teams to refine lead generation tactics and contribute to campaign ideas.
  • CRM Management: Maintain detailed records of your activities and interactions in our CRM system to ensure seamless transition of qualified leads to Account Executives.
  • Feedback Loop: Act as a key feedback mechanism to the sales and product teams, sharing insights from client interactions to help Loop evolve its offerings and sales approach.
What is Success in This Role
As a Business Development Representative, you'll be tasked with the critical role of identifying potential clients and reaching out to at least 100 new businesses each day. This is your chance to contribute directly to the company's growth by setting the stage for our sales success.

What We're Looking For
  • Sales Aptitude: Previous experience in sales or a strong desire to enter the sales field. Phone or door-to-door sales experience is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft clear and effective messages.
  • Persistence: A tenacious attitude with the resilience to handle rejection and continue with a positive attitude when reaching potential clients.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of leads and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM: Comfortable using or learning CRM systems and sales automation tools to maximize your efficiency.
  • Growth Mindset: A desire to learn, grow and contribute to a team environment.
  • Goal Oriented: Motivated by exceeding targets with a proven track record of over-achieving quota consistently and predictably.
  • Analytical Skills: Analyze data to track the effectiveness of outreach efforts and make adjustments accordingly.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.

It's a Bonus if You Have

  • Experience in Tech, even better in FinTech
  • Experience working with small teams, particularly at start-ups
  • A second language, particularly Spanish

What we offer

  • Salary range CAD$50,000-$60,000 annual, commensurate with experience 

  • A rewarding commission structure for successful lead conversions 

  • Equity ranging 0.01-0.05%

  • 3 weeks vacation 

  • Enrollment in group's health benefits after probation period 

Interview Process

  • 30 minutes video call to discuss the opportunity and the organization with Sarah, Chief of Staff
  • 45 minutes in person meeting with 2 team members
  • Take home assignment
  • 30 minutes in person meeting with Cato, CEO and Co-Founder
  • Background check and offer
