STATUS: Part-Time (minimum of 24 hours per week, for 25 weeks )
SALARY: $20/hour
HOURS: 15–20 hours per week
DURATION: Summer 2026 (flexible start and end dates, 8 weeks)
LOCATION: Hybrid (1-day/week in office in New Haven, CT)
About the Role
Are you curious about how social service organizations actually run behind the scenes? This paid summer internship offers hands-on experience supporting the Communications function of a mission-driven social services organization.
The Communications Intern will support content strategy, digital engagement, and website optimization. This role is ideal for students interested in nonprofit communications, digital media, marketing, or storytelling.
You’ll gain hands-on experience working on real campaigns and digital improvements that expand Love146’s reach.
What You’ll Do
Content Creation
- Review podcast episodes to identify compelling sound bites and reusable content
- Draft LinkedIn posts using evergreen content
- Assist with light audio/video editing (experience is a plus, not required)
- Repurpose existing content into new digital formats
Website & Digital Optimization
- Research how nonprofit websites can improve search ranking and integrate effectively with AI tools
- Provide practical recommendations specific to Love146’s website
- Review and refine meta descriptions and images to improve share quality
- Ensure top website pages have optimized image file names and alt text
- Support migrating Love146’s surveys & forms from Typeform & GetFeedback into Outgrow
