Development Associate, Auxiliaries Relations

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION 

The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, in partnership with Stanford Medicine and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, unlocks philanthropy to transform health for children and families in Northern California - and around the world. Through fundraising and grantmaking, the Foundation drives scientific research, innovation, and policy change that will improve care, advance cures, and reform healthcare systems for this and future generations.  


MAIN FOCUS: Support fundraising, events, and operations for the Association of Auxiliaries for Children, a legacy group of volunteers and efforts whom fundraise solely for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health.


LOCATION: Palo Alto, CA (hybrid); the successful candidate for this role will be based in the Bay Area.


WHAT YOU'LL DO... 


As the Development Associate, Auxiliaries Relations, you will help shape the future of nearly 800 volunteers and philanthropists via an array of engaging, educational and creative tasks and responsibilities.

Reporting to, and in collaboration with, the Senior Director, Auxiliaries Relations, you’ll apply your skills to provide administrative and program support for Auxiliaries Relations, which is part of the annual giving team. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of events, board meetings, and projects with passionate volunteers and donors, and faculty and staff at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford/Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. You will spend time on analytical projects learning and using Raiser’s Edge and Excel. This is an entry-level position where all aspects of the role can be taught; this role presents a great opportunity to learn about the cross-functional aspects of the Auxiliaries, the unique businesses they operate and events they conduct, and how we work with a variety of departments at the hospital and in the community.


This role will partner with colleagues in Annual Giving, and occasionally with the Event and Gift Planning teams.


The compensation range for this position is $29-$34 per hour.



YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...


General Administrative Support

  • Coordinate meeting needs for Association of Auxiliaries and Affiliate organizations including booking space, catering, creating and compiling meeting materials.
  • Maintain board and membership rosters, as well as a speaker database.
  • Create and update individual Auxiliary/member records and run a variety of fundraising reports in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Maintain Auxiliaries master calendar which includes meetings, events and newsletters.
  • Process and submit expense reports and invoices.
  • Coordinate and compile Auxiliary and Affiliate quarterly reports.

Events

  • Assist with events to include pulling invite lists, collateral, and day-of support (hospital, foundation, remote venues); requires flex hours to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Promote events on hospital/foundation websites, local calendars, and other online sources.

Promotion/marketing/direct mail

  • Create a variety of promotional/marketing materials to include letterhead, business cards, brochures, posters, event materials etc. that maintain brand guidelines.
  • Catalogue stories/suggest content for monthly Auxiliary newsletter that strengthens relationships with Auxiliary members.
  • Support efforts to increase community engagement via digital presence to grow membership.
  • Assist with external mailings to Auxiliary members including pulling lists, fulfillment and working with printer.
  • Create and maintain online fundraising pages.

Assist with special projects as needed.


YOU MUST HAVE...

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-2 years of experience providing administrative support and working with volunteers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using Canva.
  • Organization skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Willingness to learn and embrace our unique database (Raiser’s Edge).
  • An adaptable nature, collaborative approach and curious spirit.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.


 IT'S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH...

  • Working in a nonprofit environment, particularly a development office.
  • Raisers Edge, Classy and/or Qwilr.
  • Creating newsletters (writing/editing).
  • Direct marketing principles.
  • Thinking outside of the box and recommending new/different processes that improve efficiencies.
