About the role


Luma Financial Technologies is seeking a high-performing, strategic Life Insurance Sales leader to help drive the growth of Luma’s newly launched Life Insurance Business. As Luma expands its platform to be the industry’s first fully integrated solution for both annuities and life insurance, this role will drive revenue growth by landing new enterprise clients and expanding existing relationships through upselling new solutions (SKUs) developed by our product organization.


This is a pivotal opportunity for a seasoned life insurance executive to play a key role in shaping the direction of a transformational fintech solution.


What you'll do


Sales Leadership

  • Lead strategic sales and relationship development with life insurance distribution firms across the U.S.
  • Serve as the primary executive interface for life insurance partners—negotiating terms, onboarding new distributors, and deepening engagement.
  • Expand client participation in Luma’s life insurance platform, ensuring alignment with market demands and advisor needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (tech, product, compliance, operations) to deliver a seamless onboarding and servicing experience.

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify new life insurance partnerships and product opportunities to enhance Luma’s platform offerings.
  • Build and execute a scalable go-to-market strategy to drive platform adoption across banks, broker-dealers, Brokerage General Agencies, Independent Marketing  Organizations, etc.
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry shifts to continuously refine Luma’s positioning and value proposition in the life insurance space.

Product Strategy & Innovation

  • Act as the voice of the field within Luma—bringing critical feedback to influence product development, feature enhancements, and user experience.
  • Champion Luma’s commitment to transparency, education, and digital transformation within the life insurance ecosystem.
  • Represent Luma at industry events, conferences, and thought leadership forums to elevate brand awareness and credibility.

Qualifications


  • 7+ years of experience in life insurance technology sales, distribution strategy, or relationship management.
  • Proven success building and scaling distributor partnerships in a B2B or fintech-enabled insurance environment.
  • Deep understanding of life insurance products, distribution channels, underwriting, and regulatory considerations.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; able to influence senior executives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative fintech culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or industry certifications (CLU, ChFC, etc.) a plus.
